HomeMr Godden's PageMs. Schmidt's PageCourse Information

The University of Iowa has launched a web site, “Math Matters@Iowa,” as an online math resource for high school students, their parents, and teachers.  The purpose of the site is to familiarize high school students with the math requirements for UI major programs.  Math Matters includes a description of the entry-level math course required for each UI major; an explanation of the math skills that should be mastered in high school to be ready for an entry-level course; self-quizzes and tutorials to help determine current skill levels; and UI course descriptions and sample final exams.

Philosophy

The philosophy of the Garner-Hayfield High School Mathematics Department is to prepare all students at all levels for the mathematics they will encounter in their future no matter what their post-secondary plans may be. We believe a student should have the mathematical skills, after taking the appropriate classes, to be able to enter the work force, armed forces, or continue their education. For this reason, we offer a wide range of classes at many different levels to meet our student's mathematical needs.
